Silent reading Activity #1- Use the links below to read four 2 minute mysteries. For each mystery look for clues and see if you can figure out the answer to the question at the end of the mystery. After doing this write down some things you found helpful to figure out the mystery as you were reading. What did you have to do?
Silent reading Activity #2- Read the timeline of Indigenous History in Canada. For each time period write down at least 2 words, or phrases you found important, interesting, thought provoking and/or moved you in some way. You can either choose words from the passage or you can write down words or phrases it made you think of. Following this watch the following video clips (for the time stated) and for each video write down at least 2 words, or phrases you found important, interesting, thought provoking and/or moved you in some way. You can either choose words from the passage or you can write down words or phrases it made you think of. (You will be using these in the found poem activity on Thursday March 11)

Silent reading activity #3-Read the article using the links below. Underline all the words you don’t know or don’t understand as you are reading. After reading look up the words you don’t know either on your phone or using a dictionary from the bottom of the book shelf at the right corner, at the front of the room. Write the words in your silent reading books. Write down two important points from each of the 5 sections of the article in your silent reading books.
